What a 'super' flashback! I loved Wacky Packs as a kid. I'd throw out the gum and, much to the dismay of my mother, put the stickers on my way too girlie dresser! Hey, I was a kid, what do you expect.

I can't begin to tell you what memories these bring back--"Awful Bits," "Hex Lax," "Cover Ghoul." For a while, Whacky Packs (as we used to call them) drove several of us to shop-lifting, because our parents were usually unwilling to cough up the .25 to buy something they deemed nonsense.
Parents--so wrong so often.

I do remember these stickers which
were parodies of the products that
are purchased by consumers everyday.
I first saw them on a classmates'
notebook back in 1971. I'm surprised
that a bubble gum company like Topps
got away with it. These days, you can't make fun of out anything without getting sued! In the mid 70's, there was another bubble gum
company that make parodies of magzines and in the early eightie,
there was a Wacky Packages clone called "Crazy Labels". Overall, it's
great to remember. -J.K.
