This is a series of 36 3.5" x 5" wooden placks with wacky pack images on them. The images on placks are 37.5% larger than the images on stickers and are elevated off the wooden back by some cardboard studs, giving them a 3-dimensional appearance. They were released in the heyday of Wacky Packs, and were sold wrapped in cellophane, in toy stores and places like JC Penney. There is a sticker on the back which reads "WACKY PLACKS wallace berrie & COMPANY INC. Van Nuys, Calif. 91406 MADE IN TAIWAN 1974 TOPPS, INC."
The placks' images were taken straight from the original art. Because of this they have a sharp look to them, superior to the stickers, and given that collecting the original art has become prohibitively expensive the placks are sometimes referred to as "poor man's art." There are some notes penciled on the border of the original art to Sailem which read "BACKGROUND COLOR DARKBLUE" and "72.5%". These must refer to the Sailem Wacky Plack1 which has a dark blue background and an image size is exactly 72.5% of the size of the original art (this gives an idea how small the originals are).
Placks sell on eBay for between $10 and $100. For some unknown reason there are three titles which are particularly more difficult to find, Kook-Aid, Kook Cigarettes, and Plastered Peanuts, perhaps fewer of these titles were produced. As a result those three placks tend to sell for higher prices when they turn up.
